Bank Verification
A comprehensive bank database.
Enter a bank routing number and BankVerification will give you the banks name, branch addresses and telephone numbers!
This service makes it easy to look up bank contact information and to validate the ABA /Routing number of a check.
- No additional hardware or software is required - just a computer with Internet access.
- This database is updated every three weeks and can be used to verify the bank ABA / routing number on checks, return items, wire transfers, ACH files, and preauthorized drafts.
How does it work?
Using our intuitive web interface you enter a bank ABA / Routing number. Within seconds our systems will return the results.
Volume users can communicate directly to our servers bypassing the web interface by using our Information Services Manager (ISM). This allows full and seamless integration into your application. Contact our sales department for more details about using the ISM.

Information about Bank Routing Numbers:
- The Bank Routing Number, sometimes referred to as the ABA number, is a 9 digit identifier assigned by the Registrar of Routing Numbers. Each number identifies a specific financial institution and its branches. This number appears on the MICR line along the bottom edge of a paper check.
- The MICR line of a paper check includes the Bank Routing Number, the account number, and check number. These numbers may be arranged in three different orders. However the Routing number will always be before the account number and all of the numbers are always separated by the same symbols.

In addition, a paper check which has been returned by a bank (e.g. for NSF or Closed Account) will also have
the dollar amount encoded into the MICR line to the extreme right. If the check in the example above had a
face value of $27.98 and it had been returned by your bank for NSF, then the encoded MICR line would appear like this:
